Bruce looking to next term

Steve Bruce was left to reflect on Sunderland`s third-best finish for 55 years as they ended the season with a 3-0 win at West Ham.

The easy victory, inspired by goals from Boudewijn Zenden, Stephane Sessegnon and Cristian Riveros, ensured a 10th-placed finish, but Bruce quickly turned his attention to building for next summer.

"Let`s all enjoy the next week or so but after that it`s back to work and the question is can we improve again?" he said.

"That`s what we`ve got to try and achieve - getting the squad bigger and better."
