The Ligue 1 side announced that the Francemidfielder has extended his contract despite uncertainty over his future in recent times.
The 20-year-old has been linked with several Premier League clubs including Tottenham andAston Villa, but is now contracted with Rennes until 2015.
Rennes are fifth in Ligue one and are set to play in the Europa League next term under coach Frederic Antonetti.
"I still have some progress to make, whether that's here or elsewhere," said M'Vila.
"I'm lucky at this club because Antonetti is here, and he can help me a lot."
